There will be an evening distribution on Wednesday, September 9th from 5:30-7pm. Please call 706-568-1592 Tuesday or Wednesday from 9am-12pm to make an appointment in order to pick up groceries!

Please note: We are only able to provide groceries to a household EVERY OTHER MONTH; if you came in July, you ARE eligible in September. If you came in August, you are not eligible until October. 412,973 meals sounds like a number.

But it never felt like one.

It looked like a mother opening her pantry and knowing there would be enough for dinner.

It looked like an older neighbor carrying groceries home without having to choose between food and a prescription.

It looked like a child reaching for a snack without knowing how carefully the adults around him had been stretching every dollar.

Last year, St. Anne Outreach provided the equivalent of 412,973 meals to our neighbors.

But what we really handed out was more than food.

It was breathing room. Dignity. One less worry. A reminder that when things get hard, there is a community willing to stand beside you.

Because none of us were meant to do this alone.

We are entrusted to one another.

Recently, it was a mom and her 3 children.

A fire had taken everything.

Now, home was a hotel room.

Mom had a long road ahead of rebuilding their lives ahead of her but hunger does not wait for life to be put back together.

While this family faced the enormous task of rebuilding tomorrow, St. Anne Outreach helped care for today.

We filled their arms with groceries.

And at Twice Blessed Thrift Store we gathered some of the simple things a fire had taken clothing, blankets, and basic household necessities and placed them into their hands at no cost.

They were small things measured against such a great loss.

A bag of food cannot rebuild a home.

A blanket cannot replace what was treasured.

A change of clothes cannot undo what happened.

But they can say something.

You are not alone.

Sometimes, that is what it means to love our neighbor: not to have the power to make everything right, but to step into the space between what has been lost and what is needed today—and offer what we have.

For this family, there is still a long road home.

But they will not walk it alone.

We are entrusted to one another.

It would be easy to look at that number and see a statistic.

We don't.

We see moms and dads. Kids and grandparents. Seniors. Veterans.

Working families. Neighbors who never imagined they would need to ask for help — until life changed.

Last year, 29,140 people were served through St. Anne Outreach.

Some came for groceries. Some were facing eviction. Some arrived carrying a utility shutoff notice.

Every person came with a different story.

And each encountered a community willing to say:

You are not alone.

Throughout September, we're going to share a little more about what those 29,140 stories looked like — and what this community made possible.
