Your child doesn’t have to love camping to love Scouting! ⛺️🤖🧗

One week, they might be climbing a wall. The next, they could be building a robot, learning a new skill, or discovering something they never knew they loved.

Scouting is about adventure, exploration, confidence, and finding what excites your child.

Take a look and ask your child: “Which adventure would you choose first?”

And share this with the parent whose child says, “I’m just not the outdoors type.” They might be surprised by everything Scouting has to offer!

⛈️ ⚜️ SCOUT LEADERS: ARE YOU WEATHER SMART? ⚜️ ⛈️

Reminder: Scouting America has a NEW Hazardous Weather Course!

Weather can change quickly—and when you’re responsible for Scouts on a campout, hike, service project, or high-adventure trek, knowing what to do before severe weather arrives matters.

🏕️ Every outing begins with preparedness.

The updated Hazardous Weather Training gives Scouting leaders practical information to help them plan ahead, monitor conditions, and make good decisions when weather threatens an activity.

🌦️ The course covers how to:

⚡ Monitor and interpret weather conditions before and during an outing
⚡ Understand weather watches and warnings
⚡ Recognize warning signs of severe weather
⚡ Develop an emergency action plan for your unit
⚡ Know what protective actions to take
⚡ Make decisions that help safeguard Scouts and fellow leaders

The training uses situations that Scouters may actually encounter in the outdoors, including thunderstorms, extreme temperatures, severe storms, flooding, and hurricanes.

📌 Important: If you previously started the Hazardous Weather Course but did not complete it, you will receive the new version when you relaunch the course.

Cubmaster Minute: The Sparks We Catch

Gather around the campfire, Scouts. Look closely at the flames leaping upward. Whenever a piece of dry oak crackles, tiny sparks lift into the night air. If a spark floats away by itself into the cold grass, what happens? It fades and goes dark in a second. But when all those embers stay together in the fire pit, they produce heat strong enough to warm every single one of us standing in this circle.

Our Pack works the exact same way. When you do a small, kind deed—picking up a dropped neckerchief slide, inviting a new Tiger to sit with your den, or saying a quiet thank-you to the parents cooking breakfast—you are putting a spark into our fire. One kind word might feel small on its own, but when sixty Scouts each bring a spark of kindness, our whole Pack glows bright enough to warm everyone around us. This week, catch yourself doing one good turn, and keep the fire burning strong. Dismissed!
