Christopher's Promise is a grassroots, non-profit initiative providing children with special circumstances the proper adaptive cycling equipment, inspired by Christopher Buzinski. Christopher is a teenager facing struggles with Neurofibromatosis, Cerebral Palsy, and Optic glioma (a form of brain cancer). Meet Elodie, Christopher’s Promise’s 179th adaptive bike recipient! 🚲💜

A very special thank you to the Columbus Firefighters Foundation 🚒 , our heroes whose generosity made this gift possible. We are so grateful for their partnership and their commitment to helping children like Elodie experience the freedom, joy, and independence that comes with riding a bike.

Born at just 23 weeks and spending her first six months in the NICU, Elodie has already faced and overcome more than most people do in a lifetime. Today, she is a joyful, determined toddler who lights up every room she enters. Her smile has a way of brightening everyone’s day.

Elodie lives with cerebral palsy and other complex medical conditions, and she works hard every day to keep up with her cousins and peers. Thanks to this adaptive bike, she now has a new way to be included, build confidence, and enjoy the simple childhood magic of riding alongside the people she loves.

This bike will bring fun and freedom, while also supporting Elodie’s strength, coordination, and mobility as she continues to grow and thrive.

Congratulations, Elodie! We are honored to be a small part of your journey and cannot wait to see where this new adventure takes you.

💙 Meet Belle, the 177th adaptive bicycle recipient through Christopher’s Promise! 🚲

Belle is a sweet seven-year-old girl from Cleveland, Ohio, who experiences the world a little differently, but in a truly beautiful way. She has a rare genetic disorder called DDX3X, which has resulted in significant neurological, intellectual, and physical challenges. Belle is nonverbal and does not walk independently, but she approaches life with joy, determination, and a love for movement.

Belle participates in multiple therapies, receives support at school, and will be entering second grade this fall. One of her favorite activities is riding a bike. After outgrowing her previous adaptive bike, she recently had the opportunity to ride a borrowed adaptive bicycle and absolutely loved the freedom, independence, and happiness it gave her.

This life-changing gift was made possible through the generous support and partnership of Athletes Helping Athletes, whose commitment to helping children with disabilities experience the joy of movement continues to make a lasting impact.

We are honored to help provide Belle with an adaptive bicycle so she can continue to experience the therapeutic benefits, confidence, independence, and pure joy that riding brings.

We are so proud to share the story behind our 176th bike giveaway through Christopher's Promise 💙

This one is for Bryan, a sweet and resilient 7-year-old living with cerebral palsy. His smile truly says more than words ever could, and seeing him pedal away on his bright blue tricycle is a moment we won't soon forget. It is pure joy, determination, and freedom all in one.

This special bike was made possible by the incredible support of the Columbus Firefighters Foundation, who truly went above and beyond for our kids this past weekend. They opened up the firehouse and created an unforgettable experience—letting the kids explore every inch of the station, spray the fire hoses, and even turn on the lights and sirens. 🚒

While these firefighters are heroes every day, what they gave these families goes far beyond their job titles. They created a space where everyone felt welcomed, celebrated, and completely at home.

We are honored to partner with such an amazing group and are deeply grateful for their continued support over the years. Please join us in celebrating Bryan and the incredible community that surrounds him! 💙

Today marks a truly special milestone — our 175th adaptive bike giveaway 💙

And what a beautiful moment it is.

This life-changing gift was made possible by the incredible generosity of the Michelle M Bowman Foundation. Because of their kindness, David now has the chance to ride, explore, and rediscover the kind of freedom every child deserves.

Meet David — a brave, energetic 7-year-old whose world changed in the fall of 2025 when he was diagnosed with the extremely rare neurological disease, Rasmussen Encephalitis. On December 5th, he underwent a life-saving hemispherectomy. Since then, he’s shown remarkable strength through intensive rehabilitation, working every day to regain movement and build strength on the left side of his body.

Before all of this, David was always outside — racing his brother down the sidewalk, riding his bike, chasing fresh air and adventure wherever he could find it. But as seizures took their toll, and after surgery left him with hemiplegia, riding his old bike was no longer possible. It sat quietly in the garage, a reminder of what once was.

But today… that story turns a page.

This adaptive bike is so much more than a bike. It’s freedom. It’s independence. It’s joy in motion. It’s David lining up next to his brother again, ready to race. It’s family walks filled with laughter instead of limits. It’s proof that the spirit of who he is hasn’t changed one bit.

We’d like to think Michelle was smiling down, watching David take off — full of excitement, already calling out the competition.

David, you inspire us all.

Three years ago, Daniel’s parents began to notice small changes. Walking became more difficult. Climbing stairs took more effort. Keeping up with friends wasn’t as easy as it used to be.

After countless doctor visits and tests, Daniel was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA), a rare genetic disorder that affects balance, coordination, muscles, and the heart.

Then the Murphy family received even more difficult news. Two of Daniel’s sisters were also diagnosed with FA. In an instant, their world changed.

But what hasn’t changed is the Murphy family’s determination to give their children joyful, active lives filled with as many memories as possible.

One thing Daniel has never been able to do is ride a bike. Because of FA, riding a traditional bicycle simply wasn’t possible.

That’s why an adaptive bicycle means so much. It will give Daniel the chance to ride alongside friends, enjoy family rides through the park, and take part in events like Ride Ataxia. Most importantly, it gives him something every child deserves: the simple joy and freedom of riding a bike.

Thanks to the generosity of Athletes Helping Athletes and the mission of Christopher’s Promise, Daniel will soon receive an adaptive bicycle. Because of you, Daniel’s dream of riding a bike has become a reality. 💙

Today is one of those days that reminds us why this mission is both so meaningful — and so incredibly hard. 💔 We recently learned that one of our very first Christopher’s Promise kiddos, Lauren, has passed away. After more than 170 adaptive bike giveaways, she is someone we will always remember.

We were looking back at a photo from 2012, taken on the day Lauren received her adaptive bicycle — a moment frozen in time that now carries even more meaning.

We are deeply grateful to Athletes Helping Athletes, whose generosity made it possible for Lauren to receive her very first adaptive bike. Because of their support, she was given moments of freedom, joy, and independence — memories her family will always hold close.

While our hearts are full knowing we were able to help make that bike a reality for her, the heartbreak that comes with this kind of news never gets easier. These children and their families stay with you long after delivery day.

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Lauren’s family. We hope they feel surrounded by love and comfort during this unimaginable time.

Today was one of those days that fills your heart right up. Tyler got his adaptive bike—and from the very first moment, it was pure joy 💙🚲 It’s the 173rd adaptive bike from Christopher’s Promise, and wow, what a special milestone it is.

Tyler is an energetic, hilarious 8-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia. He’s the youngest and the only boy in a family of six kids, which pretty much explains his nonstop energy. He’s always on the move, always curious—especially about science—and if Tyler has something to say, he’s definitely not sitting still while he says it.

About a year ago, life took an unexpected turn when Tyler was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia. It’s a rare condition that’s made it harder for him to keep up with his friends and do the things he loves most, like riding bikes and playing his favorite game, "zombie tag." Watching from the sidelines has been incredibly hard for him and his family.

But today—that all changed.

This bike is so much more than wheels and pedals. It gives Tyler confidence, freedom, and the simple, beautiful joy of being a kid again. Seeing him ride, smile, and just be Tyler was everything.

We’re beyond grateful to Rex Riggs and Nancy Rosiello Riggs for funding this bike through Christopher’s Promise, and to Pedal Bicycle Co. for making sure it fit Tyler perfectly. Your kindness made this moment possible, and it means more than words can say.

Life may look different for Tyler and his family —but today was all about movement, laughter, and unforgettable joy. And that’s exactly why this mission matters 💙🚲
