The Fall 2026 PILLAR Grant cycle awarded more than $7,700 to three projects creating new opportunities for youth and families across Columbus. 💙

At Holton Community Center, funding will replace an aging kitchen range to support cooking programs and community events.

Brentnell Recreation Center will add archery equipment so more young people can participate.

The grant will also support SPARK’s citywide Girls Empowerment Day, with activities focused on confidence, leadership, and wellness for girls ages 8–18.

Through our PILLAR Grants, the Columbus Recreation and Parks Foundation is proud to support ideas that help our community centers serve their neighborhoods. 💚

See the PILLAR Grant in action at Dodge Community Center! 🌱

Dodge Community Center received a PILLAR Grant from the Columbus Recreation and Parks Foundation to support its community garden and help create a space for community members to connect and enjoy fresh, locally grown flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables.

Columbus Foodscapes provides ongoing garden support and curriculum that community center staff can use to engage participants and help them learn more about growing food and the role gardens can play in a healthy, connected community.

Hear from the founder of Columbus Foodscapes, Katie, about what she hopes the community will gain from the garden program.

New experiences can open the door to new possibilities. 💙

This summer, Center Without Walls gave more than 255 Columbus youth opportunities to explore, connect and try something new.

For many participants, that included stepping onto the ice and experiencing skating for the very first time. From those first moments on the ice to gaining confidence with every lap, these experiences are what Center Without Walls is all about.

A special thank you to the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation for supporting Center Without Walls and helping make opportunities like these possible!

For nearly 30 years, the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Summer Fishing Program has introduced young people to the outdoors while teaching patience, confidence, and resilience.

This summer, we're grateful to Loeb Electric, Peter Walsh, and John Igel for helping make those experiences possible. Their support provided resources for the program, and members of the Loeb Electric team joined our donors in volunteering during Fishing Fridays at Adams Community Center.
