Brief Chapter History:
On March 7, 1982, the Omicron Rho Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, was founded at Ohio Wesleyan University by Brother Darryl Fletcher, Brother Roger Craig Allen, Brother Harold Edward Pinkston, Jr., Brother Darryl Alan Peal, Brother Noel Garth Goodrich, Brother Anthony Ross Gray, Brother Daniel Mathew Sturkey. In 1993, alumni and current undergraduate members of O
micron Rho decided to expand the chapter to include various colleges and universities throughout the city of Columbus. The first brothers initiated thru this expansion were Damon Knight and Major Foley, who attended Otterbein College (now Otterbein University). In April of 1995, Brothers Michael Bivins and Edward Quincy Williams were the first to be initiated from Capital University. On March 2, 1996, Omicron Rho expanded to the campus of DeVry University when they initiated Brother Eric Pannell. In 2001, Omicron Rho expanded to Ohio Dominican University with the initiation of Brother Roberto Allen. Franklin University became a part of Omicron Rho in 2002 with the initiation of Brother Thomas Few. Shorts became the first member initiated from Columbus College of Art and Design. To date, Omicron Rho consists of seven universities - Ohio Wesleyan University, Otterbein University, Capital University, DeVry University, Franklin University, Ohio Dominican University and Columbus College of Art and Design
