Another successful Young Eagles event. Special THANKS to all our ground and pilot volunteers. Today 57 youth were introduced to aviation and experienced a free airplane ride. Our next event will be August 8 with registration opening on July 6.

Tonight with the adult build session, one team marked and trimmed the top skin while the other created a skin doubler to relocate the flap tube thru hole

“Bubba”, our first FAA Certified Seeing Eye dog taking our first blind pilot for a ride yesterday. Bubba can sniff out a thermal with amazing accuracy. All went well until Bubba saw a squirrel on final. It was a very Ruff landing!

Something a little different tonight, working with an A&P to help change a fuel sender probe in a C172 fuel tank, installing the fuel tank in the Zenith left wing, and meeting with another A&P talk airplanes

Last evening we located the center point of the fuel filler cap by creating a plexiglass template. We transferred the center point to the leading edge skin. Then using a fly cutter created the hole for the fuel filler tube installation

FREE AIRPLANE RIDES!! June 13 at 9am will be our next Young Eagles Rally! Our registration is now open and we have limited slots. To begin with, we have placed a limit on the number of registrations allowed for youth that have previously been flown. We are wanting to try and get others that have never flown before. If slots remain available, then the limitation will be removed. For now be sure to go ahead and register your child at

A whole lot of everything going on Monday; continuing install work with the wing locker and fuel tank for the Zenith, rebuild of the landing struts for a N3N, learning metal work and forming for cell phone holders and nose rib forming….
