Last week Courtney joined the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) and Children at Risk Evaluation (CARE) training in Canfield, Ohio. The day gathered over 80 professionals: social workers, hospital staff, law enforcement, prosecutors, foster care parents....Together we wrestled with the need for trauma informed care for professionals who serve children.
If we neglect to identify child abuse, that trauma can fester into the victims of human trafficking or the solicitors who purchase s*x who end up in She Has A Name's programming. It was a challenging and crucial conversation to connect dots between familial trafficking, generative AI, and the prevalence of human trafficking risk factors in Trumbull, Mahoning, and Summit Counties.
Thank you to Akron Children's Hospital for convening the day and inviting us to participate!
