✨ A wonderful day fabulously coordinated by Ms. Barbara Peterman! CHPT was part of a return trip to Houston’s River Oaks to visit Marta Ross, docent at Rienzi Mansion.

Part of The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Rienzi beautifully demonstrates how a historic home, remarkable collections, and exceptional storytelling can create an unforgettable visitor experience. 🏛️🌿

Marta previously visited Columbus and met with representatives from CHPT, the Nesbitt Memorial Library, and the Live Oak Art Center and reminded us of the value of collaboration and the importance of learning from one another.

Thank you, Barbara and Marta, we learned so much and are grateful for this wonderful experience! 💕

🌸 Magnolia Belle season 6️⃣3️⃣ begins! 🌸

Jo Helen and Paige are thrilled to welcome 9️⃣ new Belles this year! Some were able to be present at Saturday’s orientation and docent training, and we absolutely loved the excitement in the room. ✨

🥰 Seeing new friendships begin and traditions passed on reminds us why this program has remained so special for over 6️⃣ decades.

Here’s to an unforgettable year filled with learning, service, leadership, and cherished memories. 💕

✨ Thank you to Shea Maloney and his team of conservationists from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for spending time with us while training in Columbus to explore our historic sites. We especially enjoyed sharing the story of the 1️⃣8️⃣5️⃣8️⃣ Dilue Rose Harris House, which is significant for both its architecture and Dilue’s experiences during the Texas Revolution.

🤩🔍 Showcasing the antique tool museum and fascinating finds uncovered during the DRHH existing basement excavation in 1️⃣9️⃣7️⃣7️⃣ was thrilling! There’s nothing quite like seeing history spark curiosity and conversation.

We thank this group for their appreciation for these special pieces of our community’s past, and hope they’ll visit Columbus again soon! 🌳❤️

🌸 A sincere thank you to Jo Helen Whitcomb Venglar, Director, and Paige Sciba, Co-Director, for countless hours, dedication, and care devoted to the 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ Magnolia Belles program.

Magnolia Days Festival has come to a close and our Belles represented this cherished Columbus tradition beautifully. Thank you both for your commitment to carrying forward one of our community’s treasures — 6️⃣2️⃣ years and counting! ✨

👏🏼 Please join us in giving these women a well-deserved round of applause. Many congratulations as well to our scholarship recipients, Kate Farris and Katharine Burnett, and their fellow graduates this week. 🎓

💕🌳 What a beautiful Magnolia Days Festival in Columbus!

Our hearts are full of gratitude as we reflect on this weekend. After two years of events sitting dormant, it was incredibly special to see the 1️⃣8️⃣8️⃣6️⃣ Stafford Opera House Grand Hall once again filled with laughter, loved ones, and wonderful young women who brought such grace and joy to the occasion. 🌸

🚌 From a lively square filled with folks enjoying trolley tours and hometown history, visitors at Santa Museum Texas, and overwhelming support of our first try at a signature drink, this weekend was a beautiful reminder of community.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, supported, sponsored, rode the trolley, sipped a Southern Slush, and celebrated Columbus alongside us. ❤️
