With the holidays right around the corner, thank you for your continued support in using the downsizing services and giving used furniture to those who need it within the community. Here are some fun ways to keep you thinking about how donating and downsizing can not only help our community but also our environment through sustainable efforts! ❤️👇

1. Reducing your footprint: by donating furniture and items just sitting in your home or being able to reduce the amount in a home is one way to make sure you are minimizing the negative impacts on the environment around us

2. Sharing economy: by fostering the idea of donating no longer used items, the idea of a sharing economy allows us to be community based in our items instead of throwing them away; giving/donating to someone in need is helpful in doing this!

3. Recycling and Donating: donating and recycling items you no longer use in your home can allow for saving the need for raw materials for making new furniture products. Recycling the old furniture reduces the consumption of resources required to make new ones. This helps in saving the trees and also contributes towards dealing with global warming.

1️⃣ Stick to a reasonable laundry schedule: Choose one day a week to clear off any dreaded "designated clothes chairs" in your space.

2️⃣ 1 item in - 1 item out system: When buying a new item, it can be helpful to take a look around and get rid of one item you no longer want, need, or use to avoid build-up.

3️⃣ Do a "trash sweep" before bed: Each night, before bed, take a moment to throw away or recycle any trash lying around so that you wake up to a clean, trash-free space!

4️⃣ Use the 6-month rule: Every 6 months, go through your closet. Donate unused items to a local donation center.
