The Columbus Area Historical Society is currently looking for donations to help with the purchase of the former Bellack building at 152 W James St. The building will become a history museum and serve as a permanent home for George Hasey's famous Dunbar popcorn wagon!

The George Hasey popcorn wagon is currently located at the Workshop, 128 W. James St., in downtown Columbus, WI. This building was purchased and remodeled, with money donated by Elton and Bernetta Mather, specifically to house the wagon.

The 22nd annual meeting of the Columbus Popcorn Wagon Inc. will be this Saturday, September 15th. The meeting will be held at 9:00 A.M. at the Columbus Public Library in the lower level meeting room.
If you are interested in the future of the Hasey popcorn wagon, please attend this meeting.

This is an urgent call to anyone interested in the Hasey popcorn wagon. The Columbus Popcorn Wagon board of directors is currently considering donating the popcorn wagon to the city of Columbus, where it will be put on display in the basement of the park pavillion.
If you do not agree with idea, please attend the annual meeting that is being held this Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 in the Columbus Public Library meeting room. If you can not attend, please contact current board members and make your position known. Current board members are Alan Strohschein, Jorie Habenicht, Alice Schmidt, Lee Columbus, Tyler Weisensel, and Betty Wright.
The popcorn wagon was brought back to Columbus to be seen and USED, by moving it to the basement of the pavillion, it will not be often seen nor used. Also, with a $50000 value there is always a possability of the city selling the wagon when the budget gets tight.

This is a photo of Reuben Franz with the Hasey popcorn wagon at the annual meeting in September 2016. Ruben, who was an avid supporter of the popcorn wagon, passed away in December 2016 at the age of 96.
