🏡 Falls Prevention Starts in Our Communities

Preventing falls isn’t something older adults and caregivers have to do alone. Communities have an important role to play in making healthy aging possible.

Organizations and community partners can help by:

📅 Promoting local falls prevention programs, classes, and workshops
🤝 Connecting older adults and caregivers with available supports
📣 Raising awareness about evidence-based prevention strategies

Falls don’t have to be a normal part of aging. Understanding your personal risk factors is an important first step toward preventing falls.

This Falls Prevention Awareness Month, consider:

✔️ Talking with your healthcare provider about your fall risk
✔️ Reviewing your medications with a healthcare professional
✔️ Having your vision and hearing checked regularly
✔️ Talking about any previous falls or concerns about balance
✔️ Asking about evidence-based falls prevention programs in your community
