Our third speaker: State Representative Adam Holmes

Rep. Holmes chairs the Ohio House Energy Committee. He is also CEO of a mechanical and industrial contracting company, which means he hires skilled tradespeople for a living. Before that he spent 27 years in the Marine Corps, retiring as a Colonel.

He sees the workforce question from the policy side and the hiring side at once. That is a rare combination, and it is the conversation we want to have on October 19.

He joins Tony Long of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and Chuck Keiper of NOPEC.

Chuck Keiper joins us at the Opening Kickoff Reception on October 19.

Chuck is Executive Director and CEO of NOPEC, where he has grown the aggregation from 162 communities to nearly 260 across 20 Ohio counties, serving more than a million customers. Along the way NOPEC became one of the largest energy-efficiency grantors in the state and started a foundation supporting nonprofits in its member communities.

He has spent a career on the idea that Ohio communities get more done together than apart. That's a useful thing to hear from on an evening about building the state's energy workforce.

Tony Long joins us at the Opening Kickoff Reception on October 19.

Tony is General Counsel and Director of Energy Policy at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, where he works on the policy side of Ohio's energy questions including the ones that determine whether there are jobs waiting for the students we teach.

The evening is built around conversation a panel on energy workforce development, heavy appetizers, drinks, and time to actually talk with the people working on this.
