This account will be going away as we bring all Foundation For Youth content together in one place. You can still stay connected with everything you know and love by following Foundation For Youth . 💙

As part of this transition, all Foundation For Youth (FFY) programming and initiatives can now be found on the Foundation For Youth social media accounts. That means content from Youth Ambassadors and ECHO Teen Council, along with updates, highlights, events, and more, will continue to be shared there.

By bringing everything together in one spot, it will be even easier to stay connected, keep up with what’s happening across FFY, and celebrate the incredible work of our youth leaders and programs.

Make sure you’re following Foundation For Youth so you don’t miss a thing!

Seventeen of our Youth Ambassadors and ECHO Teen Council Members had a great experience at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis on February 25th for VOICE Advocacy Day!

They joined high school students from across Indiana to rally against Big To***co companies and stand up for healthier futures for youth in our communities. Our teens also had the opportunity to meet with Representative Ryan Lauer to discuss the importance of schools adopting safe v**e disposal boxes and prioritizing rehabilitative approaches over punitive consequences when addressing drug use in schools.

We are so proud of these young leaders for using their voices to create positive change and advocate for safer, healthier school environments.

Thank you, Representative Lauer, for taking the time to listen and engage in this important conversation!

To improve the lives of all Indiana children, Indiana Youth Institute provides access to reliable data and resources to empower, educate, and equip those who impact youth.

Join us for a dive into local data in the recently released 2026 Indiana KIDS COUNT® Data Book! Learn and engage with the best and most recent information on child well-being, to inform community leaders, youth workers, and youth-serving organizations with go-to sources for critical data to create positive change for youth.

Together, we will go over the latest in youth well-being and how you can use data to create positive change for Indiana kids in your community.

This year’s State of the Child will be an interactive dive into local youth-centered data and connect with those working in the youth-services field around how to use data for action.

Learning Objectives:
• Gain an understanding of the latest data on child well-being in Indiana
• Learn how to use the Indiana KIDS COUNT Data Book to identify actions you can take to support the youth constituents in your organization, region, and state
• Discuss key data about kids in your county, compared to the state of Indiana.

We were excited to welcome special guests at our last Youth Ambassador meeting at City Hall!

Mayor Ferdon introduced some members of QUEST Vision Steering Team including Rick Johnson, Dr. Jim Roberts, Bonnie Boatwright, and Jessica Thorpe—who engaged our Youth Ambassadors in sharing ideas on how to help Build America’s Best Community by 2050. Bonnie also discussed Downtown 2030, inviting youth input on what downtown is missing for teens and how to create more welcoming spaces and events for high school students.

On Wednesday evening, our Youth Ambassadors had the opportunity to step inside Columbus City Hall for an engaging conversation with Mayor Mary Ferdon. They gathered to learn more about local leadership and what makes Columbus such a special place to call home.

Mayor Ferdon shared her passion for the community and spent time listening to thoughtful questions from students. One question that sparked meaningful discussion focused on how young people can become involved in politics. Mayor Ferdon emphasized that youth voices matter, sharing that she regularly listens to local students and is consistently impressed by how informed and passionate they are about the issues that impact them.

She encouraged youth to take action by focusing on three key areas: staying informed through news and conversations with local leaders, speaking up for causes they care about, and giving back by volunteering with local nonprofit organizations.

When youth are empowered, our community thrives. 🌟
