We are so proud to have helped the City of Columbus, Nebraska Government with the purchase of a new K-9 dog. This is a much needed addition to keeping our city safe. Thank you for letting us be a partner Columbus!

K-9 Unit on the Way Back

Columbus City Council has approved the purchase of a new police service K-9, marking the first step in bringing the Columbus Police Department’s K-9 unit back. The selected handler and K-9 are expected to complete training this spring, with the unit operational later this year.

We are excited to help the City of Columbus, acquire a new K-9 police dog for the community. CAFF was able to contribute $10,000 to the purchase of K-9 Eros in 2019, who became an integral part of the department. Now in 2025 we are able to donate $9,530, funds that were specifically designated for another K-9. Investing in our community is our main priority and what a great way to help contribute to the safety of our community.

Columbus Area Future Fund recently awarded a multi-year $100,000 grant to Columbus In Action's downtown 13th Street Theatre renovation project. This theatre is a symbol of Columbus' historic past and once the project is complete, it will bring renewed life inside its historic walls. It will also bring numerous benefits to the Trackside District and the entire Columbus community.
