LTR Program Overview:
Summer LTR is designed to be comprehensive enough to allow you the opportunity to gain sufficient rowing proficiency to be able to join GCRA as a member upon completion.
Practice Schedule
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 5:45-7:45 pm,
beginning Monday June 1 through Wednesday July 1.
Cost: $375
**Session will be capped at 13 rowers**
You will receive a step-by-step introduction to the rowing stroke on our indoor machines in the first week, then shift to on-water training, including safe equipment handling as a team, to experience both rowing disciplines:
We begin with sculling: Each rower uses two oars in a 4-person boat with a coxswain
We then transition to sweep rowing: Each rower uses one oar, typically in an 8-person boat with a coxswain.
If you rowed previously, you may find LTR a great option to get back into it and get an introduction to GCRA! We often have folks with a background in sweep rowing participate in our LTR to learn how to scull and to get a refresher on their skills!
