CONGRATULATIONS to our founder and editor-in-chief, Carrie Beth Wallace, who has been named the first Arts Liaison to the Mayor’s Office for the city of Columbus, Georgia.

Mayor B.H. “Skip” Henderson made the announcement this morning at the public dedication for ‘The Spirit of the Chattahoochee’ mural, and said Wallace’s appointment illustrates the city’s continued commitment to the development of the arts in Columbus. He also insisted on the continued investment in public art projects across the community, and has tasked Wallace to serve as a conduit between his office and local arts organizations, future community projects, and the many individual artists who call Columbus home.

“It’s an honor to serve in this new role,” said Wallace. “Columbus, Georgia is home to an exceptional array of arts and culture assets that deserve to be championed throughout our community and beyond. I look forward to building a Public Art Commission comprised of diverse members from the community to assist with both planning and advocating for the future of public in Columbus.”

Join our team in congratulating Carrie Beth, and stay tuned for more information in the coming days.
