Adopted Daughter Seminar & Luncheon - Designed to develop self- esteem, etiquette and communication in school aged girls. Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy—This prog
ram works with at risk girls, ages 11-14
to promote discovery of themselves by encouraging participation in math, science,
technology, sisterhood, scholarship and service. Noble Delta G.E.M.S (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) —Provides structured workshops, and activities for teen girls ages 13-18. Teens participate in cultural, educational, social and business activities to interest them in higher education. Economic Development—Provide seminars and workshops on financial planning, fiscal responsibility, investments and entrepreneurship in the community. Educational Development—The primary goal is to improve literacy and reading skills
in the community for both youth and adults. E.M.B.O.D.I (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence). An educational program designed to focus on the plight of minority males and their success. International Awareness & Involvement—Provides programs that will increase the awareness and involvement on international issues. It also plans programs that provides funding for the maternity hospital operated in Africa and a community wide Kwanzaa celebration. Political Awareness and Involvement—Involves social action and educating the community on current issues. It also develops and coordinates programs
and projects to meet the needs of the community. Physical and Mental Health—Provides workshops, activities, and information on current health issues. Programs also include stress reduction, screening detection, diet, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS Awareness. Scholarship - Plans the foundation’s annual scholarship program by awarding post-secondary scholarships, teacher education scholarships and book scholarships. Scholarship Gala—An annual fundraising event for scholarships held the third Friday in December. Senior Citizens Seminar & Luncheon—An annual luncheon and a forum for Senior Citizens in the community. The focus of the seminar is on health issues, diet, nutrition and improving their lifestyle (mind, body and spirit). Senior Teens Seminar—Plans an annual forum for teens who plan to pursue higher education and are in the upper 20% of their graduating class.
