Our CAP committee, headed by Margarete Koepfer, works hard all year long to raise funds to give to those who help lead efforts to prevent child abuse. Margarete is not shy about asking for donations, nor is she shy about giving hugs! A our recent meeting her first hug was for our Mayor and the next hug was for Assistant Chief of Police Lance Deaton. Margarete presented him a supply of Time Out Teddy Bears for police officers to use when dealing with children.

Thanks to all of you who help us in our goal of making Columbus a better place to live. 🧸

Susan Berry introduced us to Sharon Adams, recipient of the 2026 Book of Golden Deeds recipient.

The Book of Golden Deeds Award, initiated in 1919 and sponsored by The National Exchange Club, is a prestigious honor recognizing unsung heroes who unselfishly donate their time, talent, and energy to improve their communities. It is one of the longest-running, most esteemed volunteer recognition programs in the U.S.

Sharon is a life long servant leader. She is a humble, behind the scenes volunteer. We especially appreciate her efforts to help with our fundraising efforts such as our annual Hot Dog 🌭 and Pancake 🥞 Jamborees.

Sharon - you epitomize the values of this award. Thank you for all you do.

Betty Lindsey introduced us to Tiffany Manning-Hunter and Kenya Patterson from the Columbus/Chattahoochee CASA office.

Tiffany gave us a comprehensive presentation on the CASA program, highlighting ways we can contribute.

The Chattahoochee CASA program aims to enhance the lives of abused and neglected children and their families by ensuring the court receives sufficient information to make informed decisions and issue orders that prioritize each child's health, safety, and well-being. They need more volunteers to help in this important endeavor. They can
also use donations.

We were delighted to give them a donation from our CAP committee in honor of all they do.
