We know it's April, but we wanted to announce our March Photo Contest Winner!

Ella Bee and Batta Cats, and her photo of Pepé and Penelope!

Talk about Monday energy, right? We’d all much rather be curled up on the couch with these two adorable furry friends!

Thank you, Leslie, for the awesome photo!

We want to highlight some of Ohio's endangered species, both to raise awareness and showcase what you can do to help. Our first spotlight is on the blue-spotted salamander. Have you ever seen one in Ohio?

Meet the blue-spotted salamander — one of Ohio's five endangered amphibians. With its striking bluish-black body and unique blue flecks, this elusive species calls the wetlands of northwest Ohio home. Learn why protecting local streams and wetlands is key to its survival and how you can help.

🚨 Wind Warning: Help us check your yard for fallen orphans.

💨 Look in your backyard, parks, or anywhere with tall trees for fallen squirrel babies. Look for signs of mother squirrels acting frantic in trees or on the ground, as this could be a sign of offspring or nests affected by wind. Listen for loud chirping noises, as babies make these noises when in distress.
💨 Squirrels build multiple nests, so mom can move the babies if one is damaged. Learn how to attempt a reunite here: https://www.ohiowildlifecenter.org/found-an-animal/
💨 If you need assistance or advice, please call our InfoLine at (614) 793-9453 or message us here directly for assistance.

Please do not bring any babies to our wildlife hospital until we have spoken to you. We can often help moms move the babies! 🐾

Many thanks to everyone who bid on items during our Beat the Winter Blues Auction for the Animals! We raised over $2,800 for animals in Ohio! We are NOT having our item pick-up at the New Albany library today because the library is closed due to the weather emergency. Alternate pick-up is next Monday at the Shepard Branch! Thanks again!
