Scouting safely is our top priority and new guidelines are now in place when it comes to Buddy System camping for Webelos, Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouts.

Effective September 1, For Webelos and Scouts BSA, the Buddy System requires that two (and not more than three) youth participants (all under the age of 18) of the same gender and within THREE years* of age are joined together for ALL activities where they are not part of a larger group of Scouts and under the direct supervision of at least two registered leaders.

Just a reminder, new guidelines for youth sleeping accommodations went into effect on September 1.
The older youth Scouting America programs (Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, and Exploring) encourage leadership development, growth, and independence by recommending that youth share accommodations with other youth (must be the same gender per Barriers to Abuse). However, we also recognize that exceptional circumstances may warrant a parent or legal guardian sharing accommodations with their same-gender* child if the parent/legal guardian meets all leader registration requirements.
Youth siblings of the same gender may share sleeping accommodations regardless of age with permission from their parents or legal guardians.
Campsites must be arranged to separate genders adequately. This separation could be achieved through natural barriers, physical distance, or by the campsite being divided, so long as the separation achieves privacy for both adults and youth, as well as by gender. Adult leaders are responsible for establishing the barriers and reminding Scouts that members of one gender must not enter the tent/housing of another.

All -
We will be pushing the Court of Honor to next Tuesday. I have a work thing that has come up that may cause me to run late and therefore I would rather make it next week vs trying to work through the logistics and have our very first CoH not go so smoothly. Anna will be putting this info out in the girls chat along with expectations for tomorrow night. I believe we will work on some public speaking and an additional rehearsal for the CoH with some flags practice. Any questions, please reach out to me.
