Congratulations to Columbus, Georgia born artist Amy Sherald on being named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in Art!!

Amy Sherald is the first living painter in 50 years to feature, solo, on a TIME cover following a two-year, four-museum tour of her work. She is also our first inaugural TIME100 Art cover star.

TIME100 Art recognizes the most influential people in the world of fine art today, from artists and photographers to the curators, lawyers, and funders who bring art to all of us. This year is an inflection point for fine art—multiple museums had major expansions open in 2026, working to reach viewers in new ways. At the same time, the global art markets have started to rebound after a few volatile years. See who else made the list here: https://time-magazine.visitlink.me/IWNAHD

There’s something special about a room full of people who believe in the power of art, ideas and storytelling. ✨

Tonight, the Carson McCullers Center welcomed its 2026 McCullers Writing Fellow, Sarah Jordan, to Columbus, Georgia with a gathering that felt like a beautiful reflection of our city’s creative community.
Columbus State University faculty and students joined writers, artists, creators, patrons and friends of the arts to celebrate Sarah and the beginning of her time here in the city that shaped one of America’s most celebrated literary voices.

Welcome to Columbus, Sarah. We’re so glad you’re here, and we can’t wait to see what this chapter brings for you. 🤍

Congratulations to coulter fussell on a very successful opening of ‘Proving Ground’ at The Columbus Museum! We had the privilege of attending one of Fussell’s artist talks, and learned so much about her work.

The entire evening drew a crowd and Fussell received many, many compliments and congratulations on the exhibition.

Make time to visit the Museum ASAP to see this show!!
