"The Community Shelter Board told the news "No One Will Be Turned Away,"
ALL SHELTERS WILL BE FULL IN THE COMING HOURS AND HOTELS ARE FULL. ACCORDING TO THE HOMELESS HOTLINE.
THERE ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS from city leadership.
Columbus Mennonite Church offered their warm and beautiful space to our non-profit and we will have emergency shelter tonight and through the week if we have the resources.
We are terrified at the idea of having to turn people away ourselves when we reach capacity, and we implore the Community Shelter Board and Columbus City Council to take immediate action. People will surely die if they do not.
We are in need of food, snacks and water. We could use folks to stay at the church overnight, and we could use clean blankets, sheets and pillows. Please message this page on Facebook if you can provide any of those things.

Check them out for ways to both get assistance to anyone in need (they've also started doing rental assistance last week!), and for ways to help them further serve the community https://www.facebook.com/MakeADayHQ

please share: As there will now be a special election in August that could greatly change the future of this state, this after the state congress changed what is required to be allowed to vote, it is important that EVERYONE gets a valid ID so that they can participate. Don't delay, cause getting the needed birth certificate, or Social Security Card can take weeks, and then takes time for the ID itself to be issued! The images & links below are on information about how to get a free ID that can be used to vote. and also to what this special election is to decide.

As Donovan Lewis is laid to rest today, we want to take a moment and give thanks for the opportunity we had to get to know him. Many of you may have only heard his name due to the tragic way in which we lost him; I (the author of this post) was fortunate enough worked alongside them multiple times, and able to witness the earnestness in their desire to help build-up the community around them. He and his family assisted us many times helping bring food & resources to the Linden neighborhood they live in. And we were not the only group he put time & effort to.
If you'd like to continue in his spirit, please lend your time and/or assistance to Star House (where Donovan most recently spent time helping) https://www.facebook.com/starhousecolumbus . Or take time this week(end) to lend assistance in another means that helps build-up the community around you. Rest in Peace Donovan, we will continue your efforts.

Donovan Latrell Lewis was born to Rebecca Stewart (Duran) and Daryl Lewis on May 14th, 2002. Donovan was the middle child of seven. Every aspect of
