This week in Toledo, at the 55th Biennial Conference of the OAPFF. Leaders came together to do the important work of our association.

Over the last several days, delegates had difficult conversations, debated resolutions, shared ideas, and made decisions that will help guide our union and profession over the next two years. That work matters because it impacts every member and every community we serve across Ohio.

More than anything, this conference was a reminder of the strength we have when we stand together. No matter where we come from, we remain united in our commitment to protecting our members, supporting one another, and continuing to strengthen the voice of Ohio's professional fire fighters.

Congratulations to our Executive Board on being elected to continue serving for another term, with the same focus and dedication they have shown over the past two years.

Thank you Toledo Firefighters Local 92 for all the hospitality this week!

We leave Toledo focused, united, and ready for what comes next. Let's get to work.

The weight of stress and trauma fire fighters face can take a serious toll on mental health. Ignoring it does not make it disappear.

Too often, fire fighters stay silent when they are the ones struggling. You are never alone in this fight. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical safety.

Speak up, check in on each other, and use available resources can save careers, families, and lives.

The Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters would like to take the opportunity to congratulate 4th District Vice President Jeff Moore on his retirement.

DVP Moore served West Chester IAFF Local 3518 for 26 years, serving over 20 years as Union President of Local 3518.

Jeff has been a leader in his home local, across the 4th District, and throughout the state. We know retirement is just closing a chapter as Jeff’s commitment to serving his brothers and sisters continues.

Stay alert and help protect the emergency crews protecting you. One distracted driver can change lives forever. Thankfully, no members of the Lima Fire Department were injured when their engine was recently struck during an emergency scene.

Move Over. Slow Down. Public safety depends on it.
