Global TC Exec. Dir. of Performance & Metrics Jim Goin recently traveled to Puerto Rico to participate in the first Teen Challenge Puerto Rico Clinical Faith-Based Conference. The event brought together government officials, faith leaders, recovery professionals, and community partners dedicated to creating pathways to recovery and transformation. It was an incredible opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and support the life-changing work of faith-based recovery. We are proud of Jim's commitment to bringing hope, healing, and restoration to those in need.

PRAYER FOR NEPAL

Our hearts are with the people of Nepal, especially the families and communities in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts who have been devastated by this recent disaster.

Families are grieving the loss of loved ones. People remain missing. Homes, communities, and churches have suffered significant damage, and many are facing tremendous uncertainty in the days ahead.

Please join us in praying for Nepal.

Pray for those who are still missing and for the teams searching for them. Pray for comfort for families experiencing unimaginable loss. Pray for pastors and church leaders caring for hurting communities. Pray for provision, protection, and strength for every family affected.

On the ground, Global Teen Challenge and Teen Challenge Nepal is on the front lines, coming alongside families and communities impacted by this tragedy. In the middle of devastation, they are serving, responding, and helping bring practical care and the hope of Jesus to those who are hurting.

This is what it means to put hope within reach—not only in the everyday work of ministry, but in moments of crisis when communities need someone to stand beside them.

Today, we stand with Nepal.

We pray for healing. We pray for restoration. We pray for hope.

And we pray that through His Church, the love of Jesus would be made known to those walking through their darkest days.

THE HARVEST IS WAITING. BUT ARE WE READY?

Along a fisherman’s beach in Jamaica, surrounded by brightly painted boats and the sound of the sea, one man caught our attention.

He wasn’t fishing.

He was preparing.

Sitting beneath the shade of a palm tree, he carefully worked on his net—mending what was torn, reinforcing weak places, checking every section before folding it again.

While others rested, talked, or went about their day, he quietly prepared for what was coming next.

Because he understood something simple:

Tomorrow’s harvest depends on today’s preparation.

And we couldn’t help but think about the mission of Global Teen Challenge.

Around the world, men and women are standing on the front lines of addiction, brokenness, poverty, trafficking, incarceration, and hopelessness. Every day, they are walking into communities with the hope of Jesus and believing that lives can be transformed.

But reaching more people requires more than passion.

It requires prepared leaders.

That’s why training and equipping Teen Challenge staff and leaders around the world matters so deeply.

We gather.
We teach.
We pray.
We strengthen leaders.
We develop teams.
We prepare people to go back into their communities better equipped to serve, lead, disciple, and reach those still waiting for hope.

Because the sea is vast.

The need is great.

And the harvest is waiting.

Every prayer prayed, every gift given, and every person who partners with Global Teen Challenge helps strengthen the hands of leaders serving around the world.

You may never sit on a Jamaican beach mending a fisherman’s net.

But you can help prepare the people who are casting theirs.

Let’s mend the nets. Strengthen the leaders. And go after the harvest.

This week our Global Teen Challenge team had the opportunity to connect with the Church of the Highlands Columbus team for an introduction and Q&A around their Freedom experience and book.

We’re excited to dive into Freedom together as a team and explore how this powerful resource could become part of what we offer through Global Teen Challenge.

The Freedom experience developed by Church of the Highlands has helped countless people find healing, freedom, and a deeper relationship with Jesus—and we believe there is incredible potential for this resource beyond the walls of the local church and around the world.

We’re constantly reminded of a staggering reality: 93% of people struggling with addiction will never walk through the doors of a residential rehabilitation program.

So the question we continue to ask is: How do we reach the 93%?

If they may never come through our doors, we have to find new ways to bring hope and freedom to them.

As Global Teen Challenge continues to serve around the world, we’re excited about opportunities like Freedom that can help us equip churches, communities, leaders, and individuals with practical tools rooted in the hope of Jesus.

Our mission remains the same: putting hope within reach of every person struggling with life-controlling issues—until all live free.

A few weeks ago, our COO, Dr. Jose Martinez, and members of the Global Teen Challenge team spent time in Thailand as we continue to see exciting new doors opening around the world.

From Thailand to nations across the globe, God is creating opportunities to put hope within reach and make the name of Jesus known in places where people desperately need freedom, restoration, and the hope of the Gospel.

At 18, Sofia had already survived an overdose. Today, she helps teenage girls find a different path.
After years of bullying, Sofia began searching for acceptance through alcohol, ma*****na, and harder drugs. Her addiction led her to run away from home, steal, drop out of school, and surround herself with people whose lives revolved around drugs.
After an overdose and losing the people around her, Sofia finally asked her father for help. That decision led her to Teen Challenge.
At first, she struggled with panic attacks, insomnia, and a hardened heart. But during a youth service about the Holy Spirit, Sofia surrendered her life to God and asked Him to transform her completely.
And He did.
God restored her relationship with her parents, gave her peace and purpose, and taught her how to stand firm even when life and temptation were difficult.
Today, Sofia has been free for more than a year and a half. She has returned to her studies, participates in prevention campaigns, shares her testimony, and supports teenage girls through the House of Joy.
The path God has prepared isn't always easy—but Sofia has discovered that it is worth following.
