The Preservation Project

The Preservation Project A project developed to build youth civic engagement through experiential service-learning.

The Preservation Project 2011: Operation NOLA - gave 14 exceptional Columbus students a chance to provide an invaluable civic service to a community that is part of the lifeblood of this country - New Orleans, Louisiana. Students had direct service access to the Greater New Orleans area providing hunger relief through food distribution, as well as hands on construction experience through the rebui

lding of homes. Not only were community needs met through this service-learning expedition, students also had the chance to interact with people from different socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures.

We just found out Janice was FINALLY welcomed home safe and sound through the St. Bernard Project! We are so grateful to have worked on the Williams' home during Operation NOLA. Our love & thoughts are still with those rebuilding... stay strong.

On October 28, SBP was thrilled to welcome Janice Williams home in Violet, LA. The event raised bittersweet memories for Janice—after a long battle with stomach cancer, her husband Sherman passed away earlier this year.
