A group of Somali professionals launched the centre in January 2010 to pioneer a national research centre that would serve as a think tank focused on issues facing Somalia and the Somali communities. CeRPA recognizes the necessity to analyze, invest and undertake policy analysis and research activities in Somalia in order to achieve economic, political and social progress. Guided by a diverse and
distinguished advisory council; CERPA works with other stakeholders to provide necessary tools to inform and analyze economic, political and social dynamics with a meaningful analysis and information. Our work is focused on shifting the discourse in native policy from a problem-focused approach to truly proactive, future-thinking strategy development. CERPA focuses its research and analysis on the issues that matter most to the Somali people such as security, law and order, leadership, governance, education, culture, health, livelihoods, disasters, the environment and more. Through our dedication to high-quality and objective research and analysis and with sophisticated analytical tools developed, we create knowledge, insight, information, policy options, innovative solutions and strategies that are both effective and enduring. CeRPA analysis foreign and national policies and relations that have direct local impact and is proud for operating independent of political and commercial pressures and to share its findings with the government, its development partners, private sector, and civil society.
