The Columbus Symphony Orchestra’s story isn’t just history—it’s still unfolding today under one enduring leader.

Meet George Del Gobbo. Since 1987, Del Gobbo has led the CSO with a vision that goes beyond the concert stage—growing the orchestra into a fully professional ensemble and expanding its reach throughout the community.

From introducing programs like Know the Score to creating opportunities for students and families to experience music up close, his impact has made the CSO more accessible, educational, and connected than ever before.

Because of Del Gobbo, the music doesn’t just stay in the concert hall—it lives throughout Columbus.

For over two decades, one name became synonymous with the growth and stability of the CSO.

Meet Harry Kruger. From 1965 to 1986, Kruger brought the stability and vision the CSO needed to grow into the orchestra we know today. But his impact didn’t stop on the podium—he helped expand the orchestra’s reach, foster music education, and nurture local talent across the community.

He also helped form the Columbus Symphony Women’s Association, strengthening the support system that continues to uplift the CSO.

Because of Kruger, the CSO didn’t just continue—it thrived.

🎶 A legacy built over decades deserves a strong future—stand with us and Make the Music Last. This fundraising campaign will help the CSO thrive into the future. Help us make a lasting impact by clicking the link in our bio and donating today!
