Tonight is the night!

For 29 years, Ohio Cancer Research has honored the most prominent and successful business and civic leaders in the Columbus area at the Star Award Gala to raise funds for basic cancer research, public information and awareness.

This year is no exception as we honor John Kessler, Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer, Encova Insurance on Wednesday, December 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Columbus at Easton to raise funds for basic cancer research, public information and awareness.

The evening also includes the presentation of the 2022 Sanford Goldston Memorial Research Award to Robert A. Baiocchi, MD, PhD, The Ohio State University Medical Center & James Cancer Center.

Live entertainment by Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus. This is a 45-minute show you don’t want to miss!!

OCR has provided over $2.12 million in seed money to Columbus area researchers at The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital that has generated over $252 million from other sources to continue work based on initial success.

We look forward to your presence at this exciting event and encourage those of you who are unable to attend to donate to this very important cause. You can make a difference in the fight against cancer!

This year is no exception as we present the 32nd Grand Illusions Sauté to honor Tara Abraham, Chairwoman, Accel Inc. on
Wednesday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. at The Athletic Club of Columbus.

Don't miss the party, Toledo!

For 12 years, Ohio Cancer Research (OCR) is proud to have honored and sizzled, the most prominent and successful business and civic leaders in the Toledo area to raise funds for basic cancer research, public information, and awareness.

This year we honor Wade Kapszukiewicz, Mayor, City of Toledo on Thursday, September 29 at 6 p.m. at the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel.

Additionally, the 2022 Discover Award for Research will be presented to The University of Toledo’s Lirim Shemshedini, PhD. Dr. Shemshedini received a $50,000 seed money grant from OCR in 2001 that generated nearly $2 million from other sources based on his success.
