I couldn’t be more proud of these kids and their dogs! They went to the Tri-County Show this weekend and did amazing. Ribbons galore but more importantly, they were wonderful partners to their dogs and showed amazing sportsmanship. I caught a few videos but definitely not everything! Videos in comments.

We had a great time starting up agility in the new fenced in yard on Thursday! If you get a chance, thank Chad 🙂

Starting May 15 we will have classes each week on Thursday.

4 pm- 1st year

7 pm 2nd year and up (this might start at 7:15 sometimes)

If you can’t make one just come to the other- no big deal if it’s not technically your class.

I’m probably not going to be able to do a bunch of classes the two weeks before fair so don’t wait until the last minute! Start practicing now.

Figure on once a week until fair with 1-2 practices at the Civic Center once we can set up there.

February means “Fall in Love through Feeding” for those of you committed to a strong partnership with your dogs.

Feed one or both daily meals by hand and be sure you are the one doing the feeding, watering, walking, etc. with your dog.

I forgot to mention treat pouches! Being able to access treats quickly is important and helps with training. Many people love treat pouches and I used to be a huge fan but anymore I find vests are much easier for people to access when their hands are full! You can have a lightweight vest that you just use for training and put p**p bags in right pocket and treats in the left! It’s really soooo simple. There are fancy vests with tons of pockets but honestly you only need 2.

Project hope has a ton of free vests if you want to try one out!

Just be sure to hang vest and empty pockets or they’ll get holes in them from treat loving dogs.

There’s also treat pouches on amazon that are great but get the one with a belt or when you wear leggings/shorts the clip ones don’t stay on!

Keeping our dogs a healthy weight is sooo important! Dogs who are overweight have trouble sitting, moving and being motivated to work with you. Agility is far too hard on dogs carrying extra weight especially in the heat of the summer.
