The Mother’s Cove sends a heartfelt “Thank You” to Lawrence and Monya Funderburke and the incredible Funderburke Foundation for sponsoring a beautiful Spa Day for our mom clients at Allvera Wellness Spa in Columbus! 💛✨

Our moms enjoyed a full day of pampering — relaxing massages, refreshing facials, and soothing sauna treatments provided by the amazing Allvera Wellness Spa team. Lunch and thoughtful gifts made the day even more special.

We are deeply grateful for partners like the Funderburke Foundation, who continue to uplift, encourage, and support mothers throughout the Columbus community. Together, we’re building stronger families and brighter futures. 🌸

🎓 Celebrating Our Summer STEAM & SkillBuilders Graduates! 🎓

As our children head back to school this month, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible young people who graduated from our City of Refuge GoodLife Foundation Summer STEAM Camp and SkillBuilders Summer Camp back in July. Their hard work, growth, and dedication made this summer unforgettable.

🎓 SkillBuilders Summer Camp Graduates
Our SkillBuilders students spent the summer diving into financial literacy, skilled trades, mental health awareness, leadership development, and practical life skills. They learned how to manage money, explore career pathways, strengthen emotional wellness, and build confidence for the future. These young leaders are stepping into the school year equipped with tools that will serve them for life.

🎓 STEAM Summer Camp Graduates
Our STEAM campers explored athletics, academic enrichment, hands‑on learning, creative projects, and exciting field trips. They strengthened their minds and bodies, discovered new interests, and built friendships through teamwork and exploration. Their curiosity and energy lit up the entire summer.

Now, as all our students return to school, they carry the knowledge, confidence, and momentum they built with us. We are proud of every single one of them and excited to see the amazing things they will accomplish this year.

We are proud to celebrate Ted Murdaugh, Executive Director of the City of Refuge GoodLife Foundation, for his impactful role with Eastland Development for Growth and Equity - EDGE, Inc , where he will serve as Treasurer and Board Member for this outstanding organization. Ted will continue in his role as Executive Director at the City of Refuge GoodLife Foundation while expanding his leadership to support the East Side community through EDGE.

✨ City of Refuge SkillBuilders Summer Camp Highlight ✨

Last month our students had the incredible opportunity to learn from Archie Williamson, President and Senior Managing Director of Diversified Systems, Inc. — and the wisdom he shared was powerful.

Archie poured into our youth with real‑world life skills that go far beyond the classroom: leadership, discipline, career readiness, problem‑solving, and the mindset needed to thrive in today’s world. His message was clear — success is built through character, preparation, and the courage to take initiative.

Our students were fully engaged, asking thoughtful questions, taking notes, and soaking in every lesson. Moments like these remind us why SkillBuilders exists: to equip the next generation with tools that shape their future.

We are grateful for leaders like Archie who invest in our youth with excellence, integrity, and heart.

✨ City of Refuge SkillBuilders Summer Camp Highlight ✨

In the month of July our students were blessed with an incredible session led by Donald Payne Jr. of Vision Realty — and he did not come to play. He came to pour.

Donald spent the afternoon teaching real‑world life skills that our youth can carry far beyond the classroom: confidence, communication, financial awareness, entrepreneurship, and the mindset needed to build a strong future. The room was locked in — students taking notes, asking thoughtful questions, and engaging like true leaders in the making.

Moments like these are exactly why SkillBuilders exists.
We’re shaping futures, strengthening character, and giving our youth the tools to win.

Our campers had an unforgettable day exploring the Toy Barn’s incredible collection of high‑performance and luxury vehicles. From climbing into dream cars to learning about automotive design, the experience sparked curiosity, confidence, and plenty of big smiles.

This week our SkillBuilders students had an amazing hands‑on learning experience at Advanced Civil Design in Gahanna! 🏙️✨

They rolled up their sleeves, explored real site plans, and worked side‑by‑side with professionals who help shape the communities we live in. Watching our youth ask questions, collaborate, and dive into real‑world learning was truly inspiring. 🙌📐

Experiences like this open doors, spark new career interests, and show our students just how powerful their creativity and problem‑solving skills can be. 💡🚀

A huge thank‑you to the incredible team at Advanced Civil Design for welcoming our students and investing in the next generation. Our youth left energized, encouraged, and ready for more! 💙👏

💼 Coach Tim Brown – Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Coach Brown challenged our SkillBuilders to think boldly about their future, guiding them through a 1–3–5 year life plan. His message was simple but powerful: your vision shapes your direction.

💡 Archie Williamson – Founder & CEO, Sophisticated Systems
A true Columbus success story, Mr. Williamson shared what it really takes to become a thriving entrepreneur in today’s world. From discipline to innovation, he reminded our youth that greatness is built, not stumbled upon.
