OSU can’t just use “financial concerns” as an excuse to shortchange their students and workers when their executives are still making this much. We deserve better! Our heroes on the frontlines deserve better!

When we were sent home, we were given housing and dining refunds, but OSU didn’t have to pay the cost of keeping the university open. Now that we’re back on campus, OSU raised our tuition. All this after OSU received over $40 million in subsidies from the government? We’re struggling to see why ‘finances’ are the concern right now, and not the students and workers whose lives are at risk.

Please sign and share our petition demanding that The Ohio State University roll out a COVID-19 relief plan. Our demands are as follows:

1. Students, staff, and faculty who are impacted by decisions should have a meaningful, enforceable say in those decisions such as staff safety and return to campus protocols; and
2. Employees of the University and Medical Center who are routinely exposed to a higher level of risk and/or asked to go above and beyond their normal duties should be appropriately compensated for doing so; and
3. Students, faculty, and staff should not bear the economic cost and/or risk of the organization’s decisions around cancellation of in-person classes and closing the campus; and
4. The University should ensure that sufficient classes are offered to allow for satisfactory academic progress and meaningful employment.

Demand The Ohio State University roll out a COVID-19 student relief plan.

Had an awesome meeting on Tuesday with students from Ohio State, Michigan State, UConn, Brown, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Texas State, and DePaul about the National solidarity movement! Expect big things in the future!
