Roxie is the kind of cat who makes you feel loved. π
She's gentle, affectionate, playful, and happiest when she's close to her people. While she can be a little shy when meeting someone new, once you've earned her trust she'll happily soak up pets, stay by your side, and invite you to join her for a play session.
β‘οΈ So why is she still waiting?
For many adopters, it's because Roxie is FIV positive. But FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is far less scary than many people assume. FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, healthy lives, and caring for them isn't much different than caring for any other cat. Like all cats, they need routine veterinary care and attentive owners. The biggest consideration is that if an FIV-positive cat becomes ill, prompt veterinary care is especially important.
β‘οΈ What does FIV mean if you have other cats?
FIV is primarily spread through deep bite woundsβnot through sharing food bowls, water bowls, litter boxes, grooming, or simply living together. Because of this, many FIV-positive cats can successfully live with non-FIV-positive cats. However, homes with significant cat-to-cat conflict aren't ideal, but peaceful, well-managed multi-cat households can be a great fit. Some adopters also choose to keep FIV-positive cats with other FIV-positive cats or as only pets.
Given Roxie's exceptionally gentle, non-confrontational nature, we're happy to discuss whether she may be a good fit for your household.
We hope someone will look beyond three letters and see the wonderful cat underneath. Because Roxie isn't a diagnosis. She's a sweet, playful young cat who adores affection. And once Roxie decides you're her person, you'll wonder how you ever lived without her.Β
