Lifting Kids Up
Charleys Kids Foundation is a nonprofit charity dedicated to strengthening underserved communities and empowering at-risk youth to succeed in life. It was established in 2010 by Charley Shin as a result of a trip he took to Peru in 2007. There, he saw that all children have great potential that may not be reflected in their circumstances. The lesson he took away from that trip is that kids can reach their full potential if they are empowered and know that they are valued.
This lesson stayed in Charley’s heart and grew into a dream. Three years later, the dream was made into reality when Charley founded Charleys Kids Foundation in 2010.
Charleys Kids began by supporting just a handful of local programs to help kids. Today, Charleys Kids supports 37 programs in 14 states and 4 countries. We vet and fund programs that are doing excellent work with children in the areas of education, mentorship, and healthy food. Our goal is to increase the number of programs we support to 70.
Kids deserve all the support they can get. With your help, we know we can reach our goal and help kids reach theirs.
