While the summer heat continues to blaze across Mississippi, this month’s Ward 6 Yard of the Month rises beautifully to the challenge!

Tucked away on Bristol Bend, Mrs. Anita Priddy’s lovely home and yard feature a diverse array of flowering shrubs, greenery, young trees, and thoughtfully arranged displays. Her care and dedication create a warm and welcoming sight for neighbors and all who pass by.

Anita, thank you for your commitment, hard work, and pride in helping make Ward 6 a more beautiful place to call home. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

A partnership between The W and the City of Columbus will establish a Tuition Bank, which will provide educational opportunities to city employees.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by The W and the city today will permit selected city employees to enroll in regularly scheduled credit courses.

Interim President Scott Tollison said, “This partnership reflects The W’s appreciation for the support the City of Columbus provides our campus. The Tuition Bank gives City of Columbus employees an opportunity to continue their education, develop new skills and grow professionally. We are proud to work with the city to invest in the people who serve our community every day.”

Mayor Stephen T. Jones said, “The Council and I are thrilled to offer this educational opportunity to our employees again. It not only shows the importance of community partnerships, but it also shows how the City of Columbus invests in its employees. We thank the administration at The W for making this happen.”
