Yesterday, UCANN joined community members across the city for The Big Table, a citywide day of connection and conversation.

Our table centered youth voice, bringing together young people and their adult allies to share bold perspectives on safety, belonging, hope, and the future they’re actively shaping.

Their words reminded us: youth aren’t just tomorrow’s leaders, they are today’s changemakers. When young people lead, communities thrive.

Grateful to The Columbus Foundation for sparking this powerful tradition and inspiring connection across our city.

Monday we kicked off our 2023 UCANN Lead Summer Program. We had amazing discussions about how our youth 14-17 view Columbus versus how they would like to see Columbus & what their experiences are like within Columbus city schools!

& are looking to connect with youth serving individuals/programs to gain insight on what challenges/barriers are in place in the area of Substance Abuse prevention services for BIPOC male youth.

The UCANN Prevention Coalition has three goals:
•Prevention Certifications
•Prevention Trainings
•Community Collaboration

Within this coalition, UCANN will provide:
Prevention Scholarship: Provide financial assistance towards professional prevention certifications to local youth serving professionals looking to increase their knowledge in AOD prevention.
Monthly Coalition meetings to offer trainings on prevention strategies and resources for coalition members
Coalition meetings will be held at Driving Park Library from 5:30pm - 7:30pm on April 17 in Room 2&3!
