Honoring the incredible educators of Dorothy Height Elementary School during Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍎✨
Thank you for your unwavering dedication, passion, and commitment to making learning meaningful and impactful for every student. Your work does not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for all that you do each day.
A special thank you to our Apples for Educators Chair, Brandi Oglesby, for her outstanding leadership in organizing this wonderful event.
We also extend our appreciation to Principal Adams, Assistant Principal Dr. Moore, Mr. Brunson, and Ms. Barclift for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us and capture these memorable moments.
Finally, thank you to Sister McPherson for assisting with delivery in the absence of Madam President James-Richardson and Vice President Johnson. Your support ensured everything went smoothly.

Join our Team:

💜 NCNW Columbus Sisters, it’s time to show up and show OUT! 💜

We’re coming together on April 18th for something bigger than us joining the fight against cancer through the Relay For Life, a powerful movement led by the American Cancer Society that raises funds to support lifesaving research, patient services, and hope for millions of families.

Our goal is to raise $1,000, and we need EVERY member to play a part whether you sign up to walk, donate, or share our mission.

✨ Here’s how you can help:
✔️ Sign up to join our team (link below)
✔️ Make a donation (any amount matters!)
✔️ Ask or family members to give
✔️ Share the link and spread awareness

Let’s lead by example, honor those we’ve lost, support survivors, and fight for the future together.

Women’s History Month Spotlight: Jocelynn Murphy

The National Council of Negro Women Columbus GA Section is thrilled to honor a woman who truly defines "determination," Jocelynn Murphy, for Women’s History Month!

Since joining our sisterhood in 2025, Jocelynn has shown us all what it looks like to pursue your dreams with purpose. Last year was a monumental one for her—she successfully completed her Associate Degree while balancing the beautiful responsibilities of being a wife and a devoted mother of four!

But she isn’t stopping there. We are so proud to announce that Jocelynn has just been accepted into Columbus State University to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

In addition to her studies and her role at home, Jocelynn serves as the Youth Minister for Faith Fusion at Faith Land Church International, where she leads as the Department Head for the Youth Department.

She stays grounded and focused through a powerful piece of advice from her father:

“Whoever can control your emotions can control your destiny.”

Jocelynn, your resilience and heart for the next generation are an inspiration to us all! Join us in celebrating her many milestones and her bright future as a future educator!
