Auburn Phi Mu turned a year of campus events into more than $80,000 for kids receiving care.

With the support of 370 chapter members, Auburn Phi Mu rallied their campus community in creative ways, including selling carnations on the concourse in honor Phi Mu Fraternity’s official flower. That fundraiser alone raised more than $1,000 for kids receiving care.

“One of the most meaningful moments of this year was visiting Piedmont Columbus where we had the chance to meet the families, children and staff they support through Children’s Miracle Network. Seeing that local impact firsthand made the chapter’s fundraising feel even more personal.”

Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown has completed a $58 million expansion and renovation project, increasing critical care capacity with 43 new ICU beds and 68 renovated patient rooms across three nursing units.

The newly unveiled Shelby and Wanda Amos Intensive Care Unit was made possible in part by a generous contribution to the Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation from Wanda Amos, honoring her late husband, Shelby.

This meaningful expansion strengthens access to advanced critical care for the Columbus community while honoring a family legacy rooted in gratitude and giving. 🧡

Twelve-year-old Madison Elliott enjoys playing basketball. During the season her family noticed she was having a difficult time keeping up and was complaining of joint pain. A pediatric orthopedist diagnosed her with Jumper’s Knee, sidelining her for the rest of the season. She was then having abdominal pain and unable to walk up steps without getting dizzy.

Dr. Praveen Singh with Piedmont Pediatrics at Midtown Columbus ordered labs, which noted she was anemic and doctors advised she needed to go to the Pediatric Emergency Department at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. Madison’s mother, Desire, says she received prompt care— receiving a blood transfusion. She was soon admitted to the Bill and Olivia Amos Children's Hospital where staff performed an actual head-to-toe exam, something Desire says she’s never seen before. Madison then underwent a colonoscopy, and doctors diagnosed her with Crohn’s disease. She now utilizes outpatient infusion services at the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital to help manage her chronic condition.

Desire appreciated how team members provided compassionate, patient-centered care by not talking over Madison but speaking directly to her on a level she could understand— which made everyone feel comfortable. The certified child life specialist helped Madison start a Lego collection, something she continues to expand and show off to people that visit her at home. Child life also connected Madison with a camp just for kids with Crohn’s or IBS, and her family is also receiving educational information on living with this chronic condition.

The Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus is proud to be a regional destination for high-quality pediatric health care. Madison’s family is thankful for the care team that treated her from admission, diagnosis, surgery and condition management. Still celebrating the impact from the St. Luke Student Ministry Dance Marathon on Sunday, April 19 💛

More than $110,000 raised for Children’s Miracle Network in support of the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital—what an incredible night and an even more incredible community.

So proud of the student executive chairs who led the way: Sally Peak, Anna Grace Peak, Weezie Turner, Kate Deal, Emily Deal, Bradley McCarley, Caroline Peak, Charlie Peak, Henry Adams, and Guy Turner, all under the extraordinary leadership of Brooke Peak.

A big thank you to St. Luke youth leader Derek Hay for keeping the energy going all night long as MC, and to every student, parent, and donor who showed up and made a difference.

And a special thank you to the W.L. Amos, Sr. Foundation and the Turner family for supporting our students’ efforts through matching funds—your support is so meaningful and helped amplify the impact in a big way.

This is what it looks like to Make Big Change for All Kids 💛
