🚂 ALL ABOARD FOR STEAM IN THE VALLEY 🚂

This June, experience the power, sound, and nostalgia of one of America’s most legendary steam locomotives as Nickel Plate Road No. 765 returns to Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for Steam in the Valley!

Running June 5–7 and June 12–14, this unforgettable excursion features:
• Open-air train cars
• Rare “run by” photo opportunities
• Scenic rides through the Cuyahoga Valley
• A chance to experience a living piece of American railroad history

Built in Lima, Ohio in 1944, the 765 is one of only a handful of operational mainline steam engines left in North America — making every appearance something truly special.

📍Tracking the Troops Tippecanoe & Perry Too Historical Driving Tour - Seneca County Stop Highlight📍

Today’s highlight is Stop #5 on the tour, Fort Ball!

Built in 1813, Fort Ball served as a supply fort along the Scioto-Sandusky Trail. Located on the north side of the Sandusky River, this fort was the next stop in the chain after Fort Ferree in Upper Sandusky. It remained a valuable refuge even after its military use ceased in 1815, as early settlers used rooms in the blockhouses for shelter before they could build their own homes.

Ultimately, Fort Ball was a vital sanctuary not only for troops during the War of 1812, but for the early pioneers of Seneca County. We invite you to get out, explore the fort, and stand where history was made!
