Can’t believe it’s my 60th birthday. I’m looking forward to the years ahead because there is no need to stop living or helping others. I have lived a sober life for over 35 years--more than half of my life! Luckily, I got started on the path to recovery in my younger years. I no longer struggle with or against alcohol—it has no power over me, but I continue to attend meetings to share my lived experience with others. I started this Mike Recover Facebook account and the DAYW page/group to gather friends interested in helping others struggling with recovery. Like and follow DAYW to stay tuned as plans are made to gather community leaders, experts in the field, and those with lived experience to discuss how we can help empower communities to help people struggling with addiction.
