🥩 PASTURE TO PLATE — Registration Deadline Extended! 🍳
Stillwater County 4-H is excited to introduce Pasture to Plate, a new hands-on event happening October 17 from 9 AM–1 PM at the Ace Civic Center in Columbus!
Youth will explore the journey from livestock to the dinner table while learning about:
🥩 Meat selection
📊 What determines meat quality
🧤 Meat & food safety
🍳 Hands-on cooking skills — word on the street is they’ll be learning how to make a yummy stir fry! 😉
This is a great opportunity for 4-Hers to build practical skills and learn more about the food they may eventually put on their own table.
✨ Registration is FREE for all 4-Hers!
📅 New registration deadline: October 9
📍 Ace Civic Center, Columbus

It’s Thankful Thursday, and our office wants to take a moment to shine a huge spotlight on the heart and soul of our Stillwater County 4-H community.

We are endlessly thankful for:
• Our 4-H youth, who show up with curiosity, work hard, and lead by example.
• Our families and parents, who drive to meetings, pitch in at events, and support every project from start to finish.
• Our amazing leaders and volunteers, who give their time, patience, and mentorship to help kids learn by doing.

You all are what make this program so special and help our youth grow "Beyond Ready" for the future! Thank you for everything you do. 💚

Can you find the best cut for your buck? And can you turn it into something delicious? 👀

Join us for a hands-on 4-H experience where youth will get to play with meat selection, compare cuts, learn how to get the most for their money, and put their knowledge to the test!

We’ll explore:
🥩 Meat ID — Can you name that cut?
💰 Best bang for your buck — Learn how to choose cuts based on quality, value & use
🔎 Quality & yield grades — What do those labels actually mean?
🧼 Meat & food safety — From handling to cooking
🍳 Cooking skills — We’ll finish the day by putting it all together with a hands-on stir-fry!

Join us for a hands-on 4-H experience exploring the journey from pasture to plate! Youth will learn about meat identification, quality and yield grades, meat and food safety, and cooking skills—with plenty of opportunities to learn, taste, and put their skills into practice!
