It has been so much fun seeing all of the celebratory posts from our 4-H families, hearing stories in the office about memorable fair moments, and wrapping up the week by celebrating with our teen leaders on a well-earned trip.
At the end of the day, fair isn't really about the ribbons. Sure, those are the icing on the cake, but years from now what people will remember most are the friendships, the laughter, the challenges they overcame, and the memories made with family and friends.
I have to give a special shout-out to a group of kids I have the privilege of working closely with all year, our teen leaders. ❤️
These teens go above and beyond. They prepare and deliver 150 Easter meals for members of our community, organize Awards Night, spend countless hours helping with Rec Lab, run the fair co****le tournament, dreamed up this year's stick horse race, and somehow still find time to be involved in sports, school, jobs, and so much more.
I am constantly impressed by their willingness to serve, lead, and give back. They make our program stronger, and they make our community better.
Our celebration trip may not have gone exactly as planned, but that turned into one more lesson these teens handled with grace. Life doesn't always go according to plan, and sometimes the best memories come from learning to adapt, laugh together, and make the most of whatever comes your way.
So proud of each of you. Thank you for leading by example and for making 4-H such a special place. 💚🍀
