We had a great outreach day! We prayed over the neighborhood, freshened up the landscaping in our yard, picked up trash along the street, mowed a neighbor’s lawn, and connected with a longtime resident. Grateful for the chance to shine God’s light in our community!

April neighborhood outreach was a success! We enjoyed an Easter chili meal with our neighbors, heard their hearts for our community, and celebrated the resurrection of Jesus together. Love seeing what God is doing right here in our neighborhood.

We’ve received a lot of interest, which made us realize our original post didn’t fully explain who we are or what this opportunity is about. The details below should give a clearer picture of our mission, our homes, and the kind of residents we’re praying for.

Narrow Gate Ministry exists to bring hope and healing to the Westside by filling homes with Christians who are committed to loving God and loving their neighbors. Residents use their time, talents, and resources to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the community.
We currently operate a duplex in the Hilltop:
One side houses three men.
The other side has been fully renovated for three women.
One woman currently lives there.
Two bedrooms are available.

🏡 What This Home Is — and What It Isn’t
This opportunity is not for everyone.
It is not a halfway house.
It is not a sober-living program.
It is a home for spiritually grounded Christians who want to live in intentional community and serve the neighborhood together.
Residents support one another, pursue emotional and spiritual health, and live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission in practical, everyday ways.

The ideal resident is:
Spiritually and emotionally mature
Seeking a peaceful, restorative home environment
Willing to serve the community as an overflow of their walk with God
Comfortable living in a shared, mission-focused Christian household
The home is meant to be a sanctuary—a place of rest, rejuvenation, and spiritual growth.

Residents commit to:
Participating in 9 out of 12 Saturday morning outreaches
Attending 3 out of 4 quarterly meetings
Completing our Emotionally Healthy training
These rhythms help us stay aligned, healthy, and unified in purpose.

💵 Practical Details
In exchange for participating in the ministry rhythms:
Rent is below market value
Leases are month-to-month, offering flexibility if God calls you elsewhere

We’re excited to share that the women’s side of our ministry house is fully renovated and ready for new residents. We’re looking for women who want to live in a supportive, faith‑centered community.

Rent: $500–$600 per month
Includes: All utilities

Residents participate in 9 of our 12 monthly neighborhood outreaches, helping us serve and stay connected to the community.

We had a wonderful turnout for our monthly neighborhood outreach last Saturday. We began our time together in prayer and then spent the morning picking up trash throughout the community. Some people stopped to thank us, and several shared how much they appreciate our presence and desire to see the neighborhood become even more connected and caring.

We also met a new neighbor and had some encouraging conversations along the way. Our team cleared debris from storm drains to help improve water flow, which several neighbors were especially grateful for.

Overall, it was a meaningful and productive day of serving, connecting, and showing God’s love in practical ways.

Join our friends to help clean up the Hilltop!

We had such a meaningful neighborhood outreach on Saturday! One of the highlights was visiting a 94‑year‑old neighbor to see how we could serve him. He welcomed us, and we were grateful to shovel his sidewalk and salt his steps.

While we were finishing up, Bryan from Urban Encounter — a Catholic ministry on the Westside — pulled up. He shared that he and a missionary friend had been praying, and the Lord impressed on him to drive to Whitethorne, where he would find people shoveling snow. He was told to give them a scripture and pray with them. And sure enough… he found us! You actually have to drive down our street to get to Whitethorne, so the connection felt like a divine appointment.

It was a blessing to meet Bryan and the woman serving with him. We invited them into our ministry house, and Bryan prayed over us. We’re excited about the possibility of future partnerships.

We believe God is bringing together His people on the Westside to live out the Great Commandment and fulfill the Great Commission — and we’re honored to be part of it.

Hello everyone!

We have big news! We are nearing the completion of the Woman's Ministry House! This week we are cleaning and decorating to prepare for our first resident to move in on February 1st.

We thank you for your support! Once we get women settled in, we will have a gathering to celebrate. In the mean time, we need help supplying the house with household items.

Below is a link to our Amazon wishlist. If you are going to purchase something, please do so ASAP so that the items arrive before our first resident moves in!

We are also in need of an electric dryer!

As Giving Tuesday is just around the corner on 12/2 and the ministry house renovations are coming to an end, we are looking for a final financial push to furnish the house and be ready for the new residents very soon!

We are in need of bookshelves, bedroom furniture x3, a portable kitchen island, dishes, large area rugs, and 2 coat racks. Artwork and decor are also appreciated.
