Equal Districts The Equal Districts Coalition is a unified group of prominent Ohio advocacy organizations engaged in the redistricting fight.

Every candidate should have a legitimate chance to win an election, and all of our votes should matter equally. 📰Last Friday, the Ohio Redistricting Commission unanimously approved a new congressional map that boosts Republican control to 12–3.

Several districts shift — Rep. Emilia Sykes’ (13) becomes slightly more favorable but still competitive, Greg Landsman’s (01) gets redder but remains competitive, and Marcy Kaptur’s (9) becomes even more Republican-leaning.

We are incredibly disappointed in the results from today’s Redistricting Commission meeting. This gerrymandered map will be in place for 5 years with no opportunity for the people to even attempt to overturn it.

Last month, Leader Antonio said she wouldn’t support maps that “put the people’s interests last.”

‼️Now she’s reportedly considering a deal with Republicans for a 12 - 3 map — the exact opposite of what Ohioans asked for. We deserve leaders who put us first.

❗Now he’s cutting a deal with Republicans for a 12–3 map, even more rigged.

You can’t call it unfair one week and sign off the next. Ohioans deserve fair maps, not sellouts. 🗺️✊
