Steve Browne doesn’t practice HR the way it’s “supposed” to be done and that’s exactly the point.
As Chief People Officer at LaRosa’s Inc., a thriving regional pizzeria brand in Southwest Ohio with 1,000 team members, Steve has spent four decades proving that people first isn’t a slogan it’s a choice you make every day.
His career has spanned hospitality, manufacturing, consumer products, and professional services, but his mission has stayed consistent: challenge the status quo of HR and replace it with something more human, more real, and far more impactful.
A former SHRM National Board Director and current member of the SHRM Executive Network, Steve has influenced the profession at every level, but he’s just as passionate about everyday conversations. He leads a global HR community of over 14,000 through his HR Net forum and hosts a monthly roundtable where ideas aren’t just shared, they’re stretched.
On stage, Steve doesn’t deliver presentations, he creates wake-up calls. Whether at conferences, companies, or podcasts, he pushes audiences to rethink what it means to lead, serve, and show up for people at work.
He’s also the voice behind the widely followed blog Everyday People and the bestselling author of HR on Purpose, HR Rising, and HR Unleashed, each one a rally cry to make HR bolder, braver, and unapologetically human.
