June 6th, 1944 thousands of brave young from the United States and Allied countries stormed the beaches of Normandy and surrounding areas resulting in over 200,000 allied service members giving their lives to fight the axis powers. We remember and give thanks to those service members today that the axis powers dont rule the world.

Memorial for Sean Moore AKA Boozefighter MyGuy

Last week was filled with every emotion imaginable. As I sit here writing this, my bottle is full, even though the void in our hearts will never completely heal. At the same time, we know that the pain we feel is only a fraction of what Sean’s family is carrying.

A few days ago, my wife texted me and told me that Sean’s oldest daughter, Bella, asked if “Uncle Juan” would pick her up on her last day of school. Without hesitation, I jumped at the opportunity. Even with the short notice, I reached out to a few local brothers to see who could be there too, and we were able to gather a small group.

Wednesday, myself and one of our brothers and our families had the opportunity to attend Skylar’s preschool graduation concert. Skylar’s performance was incredible — her singing, her energy, her animated little movements. Afterward, I told Sarah that Sean saw and heard every bit of that show. We could all feel his smile looking down on her. I know his heart was full watching his girl shine.

Thursday, myself, another brother, and Sean’s sponsored Prospect met up and headed to Bella’s final kindergarten dismissal. When we arrived, Sarah and Skylar were there to witness what Sean undoubtedly would have been there for himself and filled with pride. We had the honor of taking and escorting Bella home from her last day of school.

We could never fill Sean’s green suede shoes, but if we are given the opportunity to step in, help, support, or honor him in any way, we will continue to do so.
