Lt. Tammy Prescott had been battling cancer for a year when she stayed up until 3 a.m. on a summer night in June, painting pillowcases for Camp Rising Sun’s incoming campers.

And, our final fundraising number for the 2026 Tammy’s Ride for Camp Rising Sun is $2,701! That’s enough to send two children to camp for the entire week.

As you can see, we had a great turnout for the 2026 Tammy’s Ride for Camp Rising Sun! The weather worked out perfectly, and we just know Tammy had something to do with that.

Riders, because of your generosity, we raised over $1,700 for CRS! We can’t wait to ride with you again next year!

Thank you to Village Cycle Center, Lowndes County SO, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Cumulus Media, Eat With Us, First Methodist Columbus, Phillip Elgin Home Inspections, Lamar Advertising, the Christian Motorcycle Association, and all our volunteers that helped make this ride happen!

Donation to ride is only $20, and all registered riders will be eligible to win many great prizes, including a $100 gift card to Village Cycle Center! Registration starts at 9 AM, Kickstands up at 10 AM.

We'll be riding in memory of Lt. Tammy Prescott of Lowndes County, MS, who lost her own battle with cancer in 2019. Tammy served the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department and was a long-time volunteer and board member of Camp Rising Sun. Tammy's love and dedication to Camp Rising Sun and her community were unmatched.

Join us May 9th as we support CRS and celebrate Tammy's memory. T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event.

Your $20 registration donation will get you one entry into all giveaways at the event. Purchasing a t-shirt will get you another entry, and then every t-shirt purchased or additional $20 donated will earn another entry.

All donations and proceeds go to Camp Rising Sun, a week-long nonprofit summer camp for children in all stages of cancer treatment.

The deadline for camp signage for our corporate partnerships is THIS FRIDAY, MAY 1st!

Our corporate partners play a vital role in making camp happen each year. If your business would like to become a corporate partner or if you have any questions, send us a message here on Facebook or via email at [email protected].

CRS remains free to all patient families because of the generosity of our donors. Camp Rising Sun is run entirely by volunteers and supported completely by donations. All funds raised go directly back into making Camp happen.

Get those partnership forms in by May 1st to ensure that your company logo and name is on our signage for this year's camp!

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved Camp Rising Sun family has lost one of our own, Jackson Farrar.

Jackson has been part of the fabric of Camp Rising Sun since June 2006, first as a camper, then as a counselor-in-training, and later as a devoted volunteer. For nearly two decades, he brought joy, humor, compassion, and light to our camp community. Jackson embodied the spirit of Camp Rising Sun and showed us what courage, kindness, and resilience look like.

To so many campers, counselors, and families, Jackson was more than a friend. Jackson was a bright presence, a steady encourager, and a treasured part of countless summer memories.

His impact on this camp, and on all of us lucky enough to know him, cannot be measured. His legacy will live on in every laugh around the campfire, every friendship formed at camp, and every life he touched along the way.

We are holding Jackson's family and loved ones close to our hearts and ask our Camp Rising Sun community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, Jackson, for growing up with us, serving beside us, and showing us what it means to live with heart. You will always be part of Camp Rising Sun.
