Tough last minute decision. Unfortunately I will not be competing at Road America for .apex this weekend.

Truth is, my focus right now is getting my home life and work life reestablished after taking almost 3 weeks off to dedicate to my wife and daughter. Not only have I not had the time to prep my equipment to my liking, I’m also frankly not mentally prepared to push myself and the car like I would want to this weekend.

I’m truly blessed to have things going in life that occupy my time and focus, and that ultimately allow me to pursue my passion in racing. This is just one of those times where those things require my focus instead of racing.

See you at Lime Rock Park in August!

If you thought the Escalade wasn’t wild enough direct from then boy do I have a surprise for you. En route home from is my personal 2023 Escalade V. It’s been under the knife for awhile now and is coming back even more sinister than before (see pic 2), and I’ll be sharing the build details in a later post.

But for now, peep the numbers! That’s one spicy V!

Now let’s see if wants to see it lead the GLTC field to green at .apex 🤘😆

Mid Ohio update incoming, but in the meantime, how’d we do on the tribute livery!?

The #45 GLTC Corvette is wearing a livery that is a nod to Corvette racing history. Pictured above is the Goodwrench C5R chassis 001, which made its sports car racing debut in 1999, finishing 3rd in GTS at Daytona in 1999 and 2nd 2000. The silver and black Goodwrench car originally wore #2, before eventually inheriting the #3 and #4 that became so notorious in Corvette racing lore.

Below is the RGR GLTC Corvette, a 2002 Z06 purpose built for Gridlife’s 12.5lbs per HP series. This car, formerly driven by friend and competitor Paul Curley, already has race and weekend-winning pedigree. Hopefully more victories to add to its story!

Thoughts on the new look? 🤔

I debated even sharing these but DAMMIT I can’t help myself 😅 Here’s your first full look at the new #45 Corvette Z06, which will be leading the charge of our team’s 2024 GLTC campaign. If you follow the series you probably recognize the car underneath the new Goodwrench C5R inspired livery. It was previously driven by friend and fellow GLTC competitor who built a hell of a racecar and has been a huge resource helping me learning the car.

Yet to come this week are fresh tires thanks to the help of another fellow GLTC driver and current series asskicker which will be mounted on some 🔥 new flow-formed

Special shout out to two amazing dudes who have made themselves available and sacrifice time to get the car race-ready. and you guys rule and I wouldn’t be racing this week without you, THANK YOJ.

Oh; and did I mention is RACEWEEK!?!? LFGOOOO!!!

Here it is! My 2024 GLTC schedule, starting with Mid Ohio this month. I’m so excited to be less than a month away from racing for the first time since last July!

Bummed to be missing this weekend but I’m really looking forward to this abbreviated schedule. All the bucket list tracks this year, with and Laguna Seca being firsts for me.

Ready to get the Vette shaken down after some recent work and hope to get a few sessions in before it’s time to compete. Feeling optimistic about the car and I’m anxious to see what we can do with it.

Sneak peak at the unfinished #45 GLTC machine. This year’s livery will be inspired by a famous racecar that I’m sure you’ll recognize. It will feature my business’s freshly rebranded logo as our primary sponsor, as well as incorporate RGR’s Future Frontrunners program which will happening alongside the car’s 2024 debut when comes to next month.

After replacing the steering rack and doing some track prep, we’ll be well on pace to have the car and our equipment ready to compete at Mid Ohio June 28-30. In the meantime, no Midwest Fest this year, but I’ll be announcing an abbreviated 2024 GLTC schedule soon!

First Z06 is track prepped and ready for at this weekend! This car is being shaken down in preparation for our Future Frontrunners scholarship weekend for in June. The Freedom Banana will be pulling HPDE duty during the scholarship weekend, which will be a simplified grassroots campaign featuring a great motorsports ambassador and her introduction to high performance grip driving. Had a great day at wrenching with and we get to do it all again tomorrow to prep the GLTC car.

This 2004 Corvette Z06 has been my fun cruiser, HPDE toy, and instructor-mobile for the last 2 years. It’s an LS6 powered car, upgraded with a Calloway intake setup, custom headers, exhaust, C6 Z06 calipers, and will be trying the ER1 pad compound with a gently loved . It’s a strong-running and exciting-to-drive smile machine 🇺🇸 🍌

You might be wondering what’s been up with the RGR motorsports program lately. I often wonder that myself! What I DO know is that right now I have two different Corvettes to prep for two very different things for our first shakedown of 2024. That’s right, first day back to the racetrack! comes to this weekend where we will finally be putting our cars on track for the first time since Road America with Gridlife.

In the meantime, it’s real busy right now. It’s a Corvette takeover at today and tomorrow as we get the new RGR cars ready to debut. More details on both cars later! A little preview; the yellow 2004 Z06 here is getting prepped to test for use as our Future Frontrunners ride for 2024, which will happen at Mid Ohio this June when Gridlife comes to town.

And yes the e46 is still around and coming back 😊 (waiting on engine)

2024 is shaping up to be full of surprises. Just a month ago the racing season for RGR was sorely delayed and making little progress, for a lot of reasons. Fast forward to today, we have a race-ready GLTC car that we’ll be debuting soon, a great used aluminum enclosed trailer, a Future Frontrunners driver selected, and were entered into 3 GLTC events with our first test day less than a week away. Wow how quickly things can change!

There are a lot of irons in the fire right now, and still a lot of work to be done prior to our first competition event, but the plan at the moment is to debut our newly restructured motorsports program when comes to party at this June. In the meantime, I’ll try to share more as things come together, just believe me when I say (despite the lack of time on my hands) I’m really optimistic and enjoying getting RGR back to basics. Much more news to come!
