Three years ago today, my mom passed away.
For a long time, her story was something I carried quietly—with hurt, anger, and unanswered questions. But today, I choose to carry her story differently: with purpose, education, and HOPE.
I thought today would be the perfect time to introduce you all to my community service initiative a little bit more. My CSI is H.O.P.E. - Helping Others Through Peer Education on Alcohol Abuse.
This initiative is deeply personal to me. My mom’s battle with alcohol addiction took her life, but it does not get to define her as a person. Instead, I want her story to become a reason for someone else to seek help, a family to find support, and a community to choose understanding over judgment.
My mission is to educate others about alcohol abuse, break the stigma surrounding addiction, and remind those struggling and the families who love them that they are not alone. Addiction does not discriminate, and neither should our compassion.
Today, on the third anniversary of my mom’s passing, I’m stepping forward in her memory and turning my pain into purpose. I am choosing HOPE ❤️.
