You have heard the saying that it takes a village. Well, this is how our village works...
Saints Alive gets a call about a family needing 4 beds, a couch, recliner, dresser etc. We make a wish list of everything they need and a list of what they want. Saints Alive contacts Debbie and Joe with Saint Martin De Porres in Plain City and they were able to fill our lists to the max, plus some. (and this isn't the first time that they have taken care of our needs) Now, we need help in getting said furniture picked up for delivery. This is where Dennis and Karen from Holy Family come in. They offered to come with their truck and trailer to help pick up items and help us deliver. When we arrive at the residence, we have Jeff and Ben (our muscle) from Amvets 1928 ready to unload both trucks and trailer and move it into the house.
YOU HEARD IT TAKES A VILLAGE--MEET THE VILLAGE--

Yesterday, August 17, 2026, we were a part of an event organized by Make a Day (who does this every week at different locations). There were so many vendors sharing their information with our homeless and those in need. We had a really good crowd till the rain came. Some packed up if they didn't have any cover over their table. But, Saints Alive was very prepared and saw all of our regulars and met many more. In the time we were there, we were able to serve 150 bags of food and water. God is so good!

When you see a group of giving people with big hearts full of compassion, who puts our friends in need first, you must be looking at this group of amazing people! This group from our local Amvets 1928 stepped in for Holy Family who had to be closed, to make sure all westside residents in need got a lunch every day of this week along with their usual give away every Wednesday. Thank you for being such a huge blessing to Saints Alive and all who we serve.

Holy Family will be closed this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday because the city is bulldozing the homeless camps in Franklinton, and the camps behind Holy Family. Holy Family has been good to us so we thought we would help him by agreeing to serve lunch on all three days on our old lot 775 W. Broad Street. Today, July 20th we served better than 200 sandwiches, chips and pastries
This is our amazing crew who worked very hard today to make sure our "friends on the street" get the food and water needed to survive this weather. Thank you to the men at Amvets 1928 for stepping up for our local neighbors. Also Thank you to Loretta Craddock for coming and representing Ohio State Medical Center along with Firefighter Tolliver who is involved with Rreact. Both were here to support our neighborhood friends.

Showing consistency is important when your involved in the lives of others. Our Wednesday crew has not missed 1 single Wednesday in the 5 years they have been serving. Their volunteers have increased, (look at their smiles!) and so has their followers. They are serving an average of 250 sandwiches, snacks and water a week.

I want to tell you about Nessa.. She has joined our Wednesday crew by bringing clothing every week for our friends on the street. We give her all of our clothing donations to pass on to those in need. BUT when we run low, Nessa uses her own money and shops all the thrift stores buying pieces she knows are needed for her regulars that come see her weekly. She even spends the time to wash them because everyone should be able to feel good in fresh clothing. We are so proud to have her as part of our Saints Alive team

These amazing volunteers Mike Korting and Gary Euton from Amvets 1928 were out serving with us 2 weeks ago. They brought awesome personal care bags designed for women and men. Below in the pictures, the smiling gentleman is a veteran in need of help and received a personal care duffle bag, donated by the Disabled American Veterans Organization. Thank you for your service gentlemen!
