It's very dissapointing to see our Laotian Americans still struggling to lift ourselves from poverty. What can we learn from this? How can we teach our younger generations so that they will have more opportunities and higher success in life? Why are Indian and Chinese Americans are successful, but we aren't? Do we care more about fitting in to American society or should we think outside the box, work hard, take risk, seek higher education? What I have seen within our communities is that we care more about gossiping, jealousy, partying and drinking, rather than stepping out from comfort zone and take risk, persuing higher edcuation or starting a business. Very few of us even think about long term goal and generation wealth. Short term goals doesn't get us anywhere. These are many questions that I have.
