Here at Jazzy Acres Horse Rescue and Sanctuary we are seeing more and more need for rescue. Since July we have taken in several rescues that were being starved, had health issues, and/or have sight issues, etc.
Since we started this venture in helping these horses to a better life we have had people take advantage of us. We had leased a barn (with a lease-to-own contract), put in thousands of dollars we had saved into fixing it up, then the land owner decided he wanted to sell it outright and gave us 2 weeks to move all the horses and equipment.
Currently, we are temporarily renting a small barn, however, it is barely large enough to accommodate the horses we have.
We are getting calls daily to take in more horses. The horses currently in our care are on a feeding regiment that we and our vet worked out for each individual horse and they are doing fantastic with it.
Right now we are in desperate need of funds to secure a bigger barn and more property so these horses have more room and a larger pasture for grazing, and so we can continue with dedication to help other horses in need.
We are also teaching the caring and handling of the horses to young children as well as helping disabled children have a great experience in the process.
Currently we have 4 sanctuary horses with blindness issues, foot issues and arthritic issues that are in our care.
Any donations of feed, hay, liniments, blankets, sheets, buckets, lead ropes, etc. are always welcome. We are in desperate need of these things also, especially hay, as we only have enough to get us through the first of February.
Please help us to continue our work, we don't want to leave any horse in deplorable conditions, nor do we want to see any horse left in a situation where they are being abused, starved, or just not wanted.
Any donation is helpful and we appreciate any donations of the above listed items as well. Currently we are also working on our 501c3 paperwork to reach non-profit status.
